The Business/Investor Immigration Program

Canada welcomes successful business people who are seeking new opportunities and challenges. The Business Immigration Program is designed to encourage and facilitate the admission of these individuals. Both the federal and provincial/territorial governments welcome business immigrants and offer services to help immigrants start a business and settle in Canada.

For your application to be eligible for processing, you must:

  • have received a Letter of Support from a designated entity
  • meet the language requirements​
  • have sufficient settlement funds (transferable and available funds, free of debts or other obligations and excluding any investment made by a designated entity into their business)

Home Child Care Provider and Home Support worker Pilot:

The Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot are two economic pilot programs for foreign national caregivers who have a qualifying job offer or Canadian work experience for work in an eligible caregiver occupation meet minimum education and language proficiency requirements Under the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot, if you have less than 24 months of eligible Canadian work experience at the time you apply, you will be assessed for permanent residence eligibility before you begin working in Canada. Once you have acquired 24 months of eligible work experience under an occupation-restricted work permit (within a 36 month period after the work permit was issued), you will have access to a direct pathway to become a permanent resident.

If you have already acquired at least 24 months of eligible work experience in Canada as a home childcare provider or home support worker, within the last 36 months at the time of applying, you can apply for permanent residence without needing to acquire further work experience under these pilots.

Agri Food Immigration Pilot Program:

The Agri Food Pilot Program was launched by Canadian Immigration Services on May 15, 2020. The goal of the program is to resolve the labour needs of the country’s Agri-Food Industry. With every one in eight jobs connected to this industry, the Canadian Government aims to attract quality labour from overseas to fill the gap in demand. The move is expected to boost the agriculture sector economy and in turn create employment in processing sector.

According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, a total of 2750 applications will be accepted in this pilot.

The following food industry can apply for Immigration under this program.

  • Meat Processing industry
  • Mushroom and green house production
  • Livestock industry
